I use a full windowed mode “U” map to compare and take screenshots, per suggestion of this guide. And in submitting those shots should I include a full zoomed out shot per the specifications listed (etc. 1024x768) just in case different people or helping out by using different methods?

You are welcome.
Don't forget to vote for the thread.
No it doesn't matter how you divide it, as long as you get everything, including the water immediately surrounding the coastlines.
Yes you should include a zoomed out shot as well. Be sure to hold down Shift as you take the screenshot, to get rid of the UI.

To the person I was talking to in game, earlier: Sorry for getting cut off, but yes I was in an Enter Mission and I hit a tight spot. I wasn't ignoring you or forgot about you, just couldn't type or pay attention to what you were saying.

Well, as you can see...
Thanks for the guide and all the people who posted their images here for comparison - couldn't have done it without you
Now that the short-lived iMap-guild has disbanded I'm off searching for a new guild...

Livingston, getting finished up with the Kurzick area and checking my current progress I came across an area you may not have uncovered:
"7. SW corner of Amatz Basin mission."
If you compare your spot with mine, mine appears to be slightly more uncovered.
Your thoughts?
Later I'm going to do a difference comparison.

I spent about 30 mins checking it out and I don't see a way to uncover it any more, to me it looks like yours is cloudy. Are you sure you have uncovered it? Do me a favor and try to get as close to that spot as you can, if yours is uncovered, take a screenshot of it and let me see it. I've taken screenshots of the places that I could get closest to it as well. I'll post them if they are closer than yours.

I'll take a look at it again.
When I did that area, the accursed sun was shining in through the windows so I couldn't see squat for shadowing
[EDIT: It's definitely uncovered for me. The closest I could get to the area in question is behind Xunlai and this spot in the mission]

Excellent guide. I spent an hour tonight comparing your maps to mine and flagging certain areas to check for my last ~0.5%...and it turns out all I needed was Shing Jea Arena (didn't know a Tyrian could go there) and Altrumm Ruins challenge mission (just plain forgot to enter it previously!).

Excellent Guide. I wish I had something like this when I did my Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer. I was able to go from 92% to 100% in one day. Back when I did Tyria, it took me a week to go from 99% to 100%. Granted, Tyria is bigger, but the trick of comparing maps is hands down the best method I've seen yet. This also helped me max my fifth title giving me KOABD. Thanks for the great guide.
One question. It appears that you had access to some of the back areas of luxon and kurzick towns for the map you made. What did you do? Did you have to guest into guilds that had those or actually leave your guild and join theirs? Luckily, I was able to get it without those back areas but they would have helped a lot.

100% Cantha map ... finally!!!
I got to 96% by just playing the game, 98% by doing the challenge and PvP mission...the last 2 % were a pain, lots of small patches around the edges of all areas...
The final 0.1 I got by being banished by Shiro. I dont have the starter area, and I miss 1 patch in Jade Quarry and as far as I can tell only 1 more on the entire map. I didnt use the glitches.
To find the missing spots I used the tabbing method. Not much to add there to the guide, my personal advise is to line up the maps as best as possible, it makes spotting the missing patches much easier. If with every tab the whole map moved a bit, I tended to overlook differences much more.
So...thanks to all the people who posted maps, Livingston for writing this perfect guide, all the others who added useful info, and all those who take time to look at other people´s maps!!!
I move to Elona now, 98.5% and counting
